About Our Church
Streams of Life is an all-age church, with people from many cultures and walks of life united by our love for Jesus. Our desire is to express God's love to each other and within our communities. We believe that we have been called to embrace all cultures, are proud to represent the cultural diversity of this fantastic city.
We have a relaxed, informal style, as we believe that church should be fun as well as encouraging and challenging us in our walk with God. As a result of this, we emphasise worship and actively seek God's presence with the help of our gifted worship team on Sunday mornings, as well as throughout the week. We also know how important meaningful relationships are in church, which is why we encourage everybody to join our small groups to allow these relationships to flourish.
Streams of Life functions as a non-denominational independent church. However we are members of the national Evangelical Alliance and also have strong relationships with many of the other churches in the city, regularly meeting up at leadership level to encourage, support and pray with one another.

Our Leaders
The Leadership of Streams of Life is shared by three couples. We take collective responsibility for leading the church forward, with no one designated as “senior pastor”.
None of us are employees of the church, and we are all accountable to one another.

Gill and Grenville BarberGrenville loves doing God's work. He has travelled widely, and was involved in a massive outbreak of God's presence in Sao Paulo, Brazil. More recently on a trip to Finland, he saw God move powerfully in prophetic ministry and many healings took place.
Grenville is also involved in a number of churches in the UK where he is invited to speak from time to time. Gill's fantastic practical and administrative skills are vital to the smooth running of Streams of Life. Currently she is the church treasurer. Grenville & Gill have run a bee farm for many years, and are now gradually handing over the business to their eldest son, Sam. Their younger son is Tom. |
Sally and Angus OrmesBoth retired teachers, Angus & Sally are now part of the Hope@Motofest Planning Team, with Angus as chair. They are also core members of the Healing on the Streets team and the City Leaders prayer group. In addition, Angus is a trustee of Hope Coventry, which supports and encourages churches to work together across the city.
Angus does much of the administration within the church; producing the fortnightly SoL News for the church, organising Dresden trips and making sure other Streams of Life events run smoothly. Sally is an incredibly gifted member of the church, and loves praying for and encouraging the people around her. They have three grown up children, Zoe, Ryan and Jamie. |
Rachael and Lee RogersonA former Elim minister, Lee set up his own company, Street Talk, providing youth services in the city, and received an MBE from Her Majesty the Queen for his work.
More recently he has undertaken projects for local universities, producing documentaries and other resources. Lee has a great anointing to teach God’s word in a prophetic and yet practical way. His grasp of the scriptures is considerable and he ensures that all we do is well-grounded in scriptural principles. Rachael is a theatre nurse as well as supporting Lee with the business. Rachael brings humour and a down-to-earth practical approach to the issues we face in leading the church forward. They have three sons, Sam, Nathan and Isaac. |
Core Values
The core values of Streams of Life church, or 'The 5 Es' are at the centre of what we do here. All of these values are biblically-based, and encompass the foundations of this church. To find out a bit more about the history of Streams of Life and what we believe, please visit the More Information page.
ExaltationOur primary function as believers is to exalt Jesus, give worship, thanks and praise to God, to lift His name higher, vocally and through our lives. “I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.” (Psalm 145:1)
|
EdificationWe encourage God’s people to interact so that they may build each other up in the faith. “From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work”. (Ephesians 4:16)
|
EquippingOur aim is that believers may receive the training and tools to serve God in whatever areas he calls us to. “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:17)
|
ExperienceWe emphasise the need to experience God at the point of his Word. Mere head knowledge is not enough. “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”. (John 8:32)
|
EvangelismWe encourage the church to look outward and share the good news we have with others. “Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.” (Acts 5:42)
