Streams of Life

Just a bunch of ordinary people on an amazing adventure

WELCOME

Welcome to Streams of Life Coventry. Streams of Life is an all-age church, with people from many walks of life united by our love for Jesus. We welcome people from every background and culture to meet with us and experience God's presence and love.
The good news is that God's love reaches out to all. If you would like to know God's love and forgiveness, follow this link: Good News

Where & when to find us:

Due to the coronavirus pandemic our Sunday gatherings at Alderman's Green School are suspended until further notice.

Join us on Zoom!

Since Sunday 22nd March 2020, we have been holding our weekly Sunday meetings LIVE at the normal time (10.45am) via video conferencing (Zoom) for all those with smartphones, tablets or home computers/laptops with wifi or data. Zoom can be downloaded free of charge to your device. It is also possible to take part by audio only using a landline or basic mobile phone.
This meeting ID: 356889069 or this link
https://zoom.us/j/356889069 and a passcode is required to join us. This is posted each week on our church WhatsApp group.
If you are new to Streams of Life and would like to meet with us, we'd love to have you!
Please phone Angus on 07874 691211 for the passcode or details of how to join by phone.

Worship with lyrics onscreen is played from 10.30am as people gather and we begin with a welcome at 10.45am. Testimonies, exhortations, prayer for healing and other needs, worship led by members of our team as well as a main talk all form part of our meetings. We normally finish before 12noon.

Update from the Leadership Team - February 2020.
The current lockdown means returning to face to face meetings is some way off. Although churches with their own buildings are permitted to meet in a socially distanced manner, it is not so simple in hired premises. Although the fast roll-out of the vaccination programme means that we may be able to meet sooner than would otherwise be the case, there are still a number of things to consider:

  • As we meet in a school, there is of course a rigorous cleaning regime. The school would not want a totally different group of people to come in on a Sunday when they have to be open on Monday morning.  They made this clear in September when cases were running at a much lower level.
  • Even if we were allowed to meet, the experience would be very different: Singing is a major part of what we do, and it would not be permitted under current rules! Face masks would be compulsory, we would not be able to serve tea, coffee or snacks, and the government guidelines say that people should not socialise before or after the service and should depart as quickly as possible! It would be a far cry from what we are used to!
  • We would love to be able to meet together when it becomes possible to do it in a way that is appropriate to our ethos as a church. It may be that our best hope of meeting as church would be in the open air when the warmer weather comes, as the restriction on singing does not apply outdoors. But that is still some way off......
In the meantime, there are definitely some positives with the current situation:
Using Zoom is  working well, for our Sunday mornings and also for smaller meetings - Houses of Prayer, cell groups, and we even ran an Alpha Course and are hoping to run another one. Zoom has also enabled us to meet much more regularly as a leadership team and as trustees. This way we can "gather" with zero risk of infection.

It is simple to join in, and our Sunday attendances have been consistently good. Online meetings make it much easier for new people to join us by invitation, and we have seen a number of different people join us over the months. Our meetings have been interactive and often inspirational. The break out groups also give people the opportunity to chat, pray with, and get to know different people in the church.

We have also been able to do some things we could not have done meeting physically, like having worship led from Finland and main talks from Germany, London and the USA!

We continue to closely monitor the situation, government guidelines and medical advice, and aim to keep everyone updated.

  • In the meantime, please feel free to give any of us a ring if you are struggling in any way during this challenging time and would like to talk and/or would like some prayer.
